Fascinated by the increasing number of natural hazards occurring in Aotearoa she decided to pack her large format camera, her tripod, and 4x5’ inch film and visit the opposite side of her world. On this journey across the land she questioned the impact nature has on our fleeting presence as visitors on this solid earth.

Her work suggests the world we inhabit is affected by us and in reciprocation nature affects its inhabitants.Through capturing the devastation of the natural disasters as well as through photographing the resilience of the local population.

On her travels throughout New Zealand and in the resulting project, she seeks to make visible the struggling life of communities in Ihumātao, the West Coast and on Great Barrier Island.
